AFTER SCHOOL

AFTER SCHOOL

LAB Middle School offers after school programming through the InnovateEDU After School Program funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development. The program is offered free of charge to all participants. The After School Program is open daily to all Brooklyn LAB Middle School scholars. Scholars must be registered to participate.

ABOUT THE INNOVATEEDU AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

During daily small-group enrichment opportunities, scholars explore their interests in the arts, STEM, literacy, and athletics. Our scholars have been members of competitive debate and robotics teams; have produced original theatrical and filmed work; and are participating in courses related to fitness, arts, and STEM. By creating space for middle schoolers to engage in hands-on learning and to work alongside professional makers and thinkers, we are helping foster young leaders in our community.

AFTER SCHOOL
SCHEDULE

Our afterschool program runs immediately after dismissal each day that Brooklyn LAB School is in session, and includes enrichment classes, athletics, recreation, study skills support, and monthly field trips. Families will be notified directly of any cancellation or closure of the after-school program, as far in advance as possible.

Our school-year program hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:45–5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:30–3:45 p.m.

Field trips and special events take place one Wednesday per month, and also during the mid-winter and spring break recesses.

AFTER SCHOOL REGISTRATION
2022-2023

To register online, create an account with DiscoverDYCDSearch for InnovateEDU under “After-School Programs.”

Paper versions of the DYCD application packet are available upon request at the 2nd floor front desk at 77 Sands Street, or at the security desk at 240 Jay Street.

Applications can also be filled out digitally and emailed to afterschool@innovateedunyc.org.

Once we receive your application, we will contact you to confirm your scholar's start date. Because we need time to process each new enrollment, we may not be able to accept a new scholar on the same day that they hand in their application.

To request a paper registration packet, please email afterschool@innovateedunyc.org.
